Hello! Big fan of Savage Tokusatsu! It really did help scratch my Super Sentai/Kamen Rider itch in a lot of ways.

I had a question about the Damage Scale and actual Size. I'm running When  Friends Attack online and we are coming up to the final battle. But I am having trouble understanding how Damage Scale and SWADE Size interact with each other.

At first I assume that Damage Scale meant that I didn't have to actually change the Size value (thereby changing Toughness); just scale up the characters and let them fight as normal. But then it says Giant Tier "supersedes the Gargantuan Monstrous Ability"  which does tie into the Size stat and Toughness?

Then the Mech section mentions a mech gets both +1 Size and choosing the Tier? And the Kaiju section uses Size and Gargantuan? Did I miss something?

I'd appreciate any clarification you could give. I really do like the system and I want to run it in the best way possible!

Scale and Size are intentionally different things. A Size 3 enemy will have the same Toughness and such regardless of its Scale. Basically it was just a simple way to say "It's time to get in the Giant Robots" that sentai really popularized.

In short, Size does not equal Scale. Scale has zero mechanical weight EXCEPT when comparing it to the Scale of other creatures. Giant Scale threats can hit Hero Scale characters, but Hero Scale characters cannot deal damage to Giant Scale Threats. That's it.

Does that help?

Totally! I was just overthinking it. THank you for the relpy, and keep up the good work!
